Our Story

Who we are
We are a family-owned business based in Kodagu (Coorg), dedicated to sustainable and eco-friendly agriculture. Coorg coffee, famous for its rich flavor and aromatic qualities, is grown in the verdant, hilly landscape of Kodagu in southern India. The region's distinctive climate, with abundant rainfall and cooler temperatures, provides the perfect environment for cultivating Arabica and Robusta beans.
Our mission is to grow high-quality organic products, including coffee, black pepper, spices, fruits and vegetables, on our own plantations.

Single Origin Coffee
Our coffee is single-origin, carefully handpicked, and processed using traditional methods. Grown in the shade, our coffee supports biodiversity while producing exceptional quality beans.
Single origin coffee refers to coffee sourced from one specific region, farm, or producer, highlighting its unique flavors and characteristics. This type of coffee is
often handpicked to ensure only the ripest cherries are selected. The distinct climate, soil, and cultivation methods of the particular area contribute to the coffee's flavor profile, allowing consumers to experience the unique nuances of that origin.

Promoting Biodiversity
Shade-grown coffee creates an ideal habitat for bees, birds, reptiles, ants, butterflies, and various organisms, as well as native flora and fauna. We prioritize bee-friendly farming by safeguarding pollinators’ health through the avoidance of pesticides and insecticides, ensuring they thrive on our plantations.
Our plantation has become a habitat for a species of hornbill, which inspired the name "Homrai." It is also home to various wild animals, including elephants, gaur, wild boar, Malabar squirrels, deer, and many bird species, all of which are free to roam throughout the area.

Soil Conservation
Our shaded plantations, featuring a dense tree canopy, enhance soil health by reducing erosion. The foliage naturally enriches the soil, and we exclusively use natural fertilizers like vermicompost and cow dung to promote soil vitality. Furthermore, we conserve rainwater by constructing trenches and ponds within the plantation, which helps retain water longer and decreases the need for additional irrigation during most of the season, ultimately conserving water.

Give back to Nature
To support afforestation and conservation initiatives, we commit 5% of our earnings to planting trees, preserving biodiversity, and safeguarding wildlife species.
